Richard Lewis tells us when Counter-Strike 2 will be released

Valve is planning to move Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to the Source 2 engine in March 2023. It is noted that it is likely it will be a new game, which will be called Counter-Strike 2. This was reported by journalist Richard Lewis, citing sources with knowledge about the development of the shooter. However, there has been no official announcements.

According to Lewis, Valve plans to release not a full-fledged, but a beta Counter-Strike 2. In the extreme case, its release may take place on April 1. Sources claim that the Source 2 version of the game will support all servers ticret 128, which is used for tournaments in CS:GO – in the matchmaking games are held on servers with a ticret 64.

First rumors that the developers will release CS:GO on Source 2 appeared in the spring of 2020. At the end of February 2023 more and more evidence began to appear that Valve will bring the shooter to Source 2 very soon – for example, NVIDIA released a new graphics card driver for Counter-Strike 2.

Wow, it’s exciting to hear that Valve is planning to move CS:GO to the Source 2 engine. I can’t wait to see what kind of improvements and changes they will make. If it does turn out to be Counter-Strike 2, I hope they keep the same feel and gameplay that we all love about the original CS:GO

As a CS:GO player and esports fan, I’m interested to see how the move to Source 2 will affect the competitive scene. If the new version of the game can provide better performance and stability, it could have a huge impact on the quality of matches and tournaments

I’m a bit skeptical about the idea of a new Counter-Strike game, especially since CS:GO has such a huge and dedicated player base. But if the move to Source 2 can bring some much-needed improvements and optimizations to the game, I’m all for it 🙂
