Virtex has unveiled its project for a virtual stadium, which offers a new way to watch esports matches. The project description is now available on the official Virtex Stadium website.
The technology will be distributed as a PC application. With its help, fans will be able to attend esports events in two ways: by visiting a virtual arena that resembles a real stadium or by entering the match itself. The second option will allow them to move around the map during the esports competition, just like in a virtual reality headset.
Currently, the technology is in a closed beta testing phase. Developers first want to add support for CS:GO championships, but no collaborations with any tournament operators have been announced yet.
