According to a release, Pepsi has signed a multi-year deal to become a strategic partner for the Esports World Cup. Pepsi will be providing special activations and activities at the event, including the Rockstar Bar which will feature a karaoke area and a selection of drinks for fans.

Additionally, Pepsi has also become a naming partner for the esports organization Falcon. The team’s HQ will now be called Falcons HQ by Pepsi.

LOTS OF GLOBAL BRANDS FOR THE EWC

The soft drink brand is the latest to join the increasing list of partners for the Esports World Cup. Held in Riyadh throughout July and August, the event already has global brands such as sports media platform DAZN, hardware brand LG UltraGear, sports brand Adidas, chocolate brand Kit Kat, and many more.

This is not the first time Pepsi has entered the esports industry. It was already a partner for the Esports World Cup’s predecessor, Gamers8, and it counts a multi-year partnership with the football game EA FC.

“We are proud to partner with such an iconic brand in Pepsi to energize fans for a memorable summer at the Esports World Cup. Fans are truly what bring esports events to life, and it’s great to work alongside Pepsi who shares in our vision and commitment to elevating their experiences,” said a Pepsi representative.

The organizers behind the Esports World Cup, the Esports World Cup Foundation, have been under criticism due to the backing of the Saudi Arabian government, raising concerns from fans and the esports community over the country’s human rights record. The EWC is set to start next week on July 3 with its week one action, including tournaments for MLBB, League of Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone.
