Why was the Doodle Lore removed?

Valve, the developers of CS:GO, have removed the newly-added AWP Doodle Lore weapon skin from the game due to copyright infringement. In its place, they have introduced the AWP Duality skin as part of the Revolution case update.

The decision to remove the AWP Doodle Lore came after it was discovered that the skin’s artwork had been stolen from its original creator. Valve took action following a DMCA complaint and promptly removed the skin from CS:GO. Players who had previously acquired the AWP Doodle Lore skin will now find it replaced with the new AWP Duality skin in their CS:GO inventory.

Valve has a track record of removing certain skins from CS:GO, making them contraband and causing their value on the market to soar. The M4A4 Howl is an example of a skin that has experienced a significant increase in value following its removal from the game.

The recent Revolution case update, released on February 10, brought in 17 new CS:GO weapon skins and covers, along with a music kit and a new sticker capsule. While players were excited about these new additions, the removal of the AWP Doodle Lore disappointed some CS:GO fans who had grown fond of the skin.

Although some players claim to see the AWP Doodle Lore in the Steam Market, inspecting the in-game item on the marketplace will direct you to the AWP Duality. This suggests that the weapon skin has already been replaced in the inventory, but the Steam marketplace may require a few days to update.

Valve’s swift action in removing the AWP Doodle Lore from the game serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting copyright and intellectual property rights. Although cosmetic skins may seem insignificant, they can have a significant impact on the community and the market. It is vital for players to understand the legal implications of using copyrighted material in their artwork designs and creations.

That’s a shame to hear about the AWP Doodle Lore skin. It was a beautiful skin, but it’s important to respect the original artist’s work. The AWP Duality looks like a great replacement, though

The AWP Duality skin looks cool, but I can’t help but wonder if Valve could have done more to prevent this kind of situation from happening in the first place. It’s not the first time we’ve seen copyright infringement issues with skins, and it probably won’t be the last.

It’s unfortunate that such a beautiful skin had to be removed, but it’s the right thing to do. I hope Valve will continue to take action against any skin creators who use stolen artwork.
